MCHS ANNOUNCES

I am excited to share an important milestone in our history at MCHS Family of Services.

MCHS has entered into an agreement to acquire Holy Cross Services’ foster care and independent living programs, expanding our ability to serve children, young adults, and families across Michigan.

For nearly 80 years, Holy Cross Services has provided critical support to vulnerable youth. As the organization prepares to dissolve, MCHS has stepped forward to ensure that these essential services continue uninterrupted for the children and young adults who rely on them.

This transition will bring more than 100 children and young adults under the MCHS umbrella while strengthening our presence in Macomb, the Saginaw region, and northern Michigan. It will also expand our independent living and foster care services, allowing us to reach more young people with the stability, support, and opportunities they deserve.

While this announcement represents growth for MCHS, it is ultimately about something much more important: continuity of care. Every child in foster care and every young person preparing for independence deserves consistent support, caring adults, and a clear path forward. This transition helps ensure that those services remain available when they are needed most.

We are also excited about the opportunity to extend MCHS’s proven model of care to even more young people across Michigan. With outcomes that rank among the strongest in the state, MCHS has demonstrated its ability to help children and families achieve stability, permanency, and long-term success. By welcoming these programs into our family of services, we can build on that success and expand our impact for generations to come.
